How to install LibreOffice 5.2.0 on Ubuntu

   LibreOffice 5.2.0 is a powerful office suite – its clean interface and feature-rich tools help you unleash your creativity and enhance your productivity. LibreOffice includes several applications that make it the most powerful Free and Open Source office suite on the market: Writer (word processing), Calc (spreadsheets), Impress (presentations), Draw (vector graphics and flowcharts), Base (databases), and Math (formula editing).



LibreOffice 5.2.0 Changelog :

Writer
  • New drawing tools were added (that were previously available only in Draw), including Filled Curve/Polygon/Freeform Line, as well as Polygon (45°).
  • New button added to standard toolbar for showing/hiding track changes toolbar.
  • Curve button became a split button and related with a toolbox including 5 new drawing tools.
  • The Standard (Single Mode) toolbar

Calc
  • Multiple status-bar functions can be active at the same time.
  • Curve button became a split button and related with a toolbox including new 5 drawing tools.
  • New spreadsheet functions : RAWSUBTRACT, FORECAST.ETS, CONCAT, TEXTJOIN, IFS, SWITCH, MINIFS, MAXIFS

Impress & Draw
  • Effects list moved from dialog into the Custom Animation sidebar tab.
  • Custom Animation list has more details in it that can be seen at a glance
  • It is now possible to export to PDF only notes pages.

Open terminal and insert command line...

Step 1: Removing Old OpenOffice Version 

$ sudo apt-get remove openoffice* libreoffice*

Step 2: Install LibreOffice 5.2


sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install libreoffice

Install via package if PPA is not up to date

32bit OS

wget http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/5.2.0/deb/x86/LibreOffice_5.2.0_Linux_x86_deb.tar.gz

tar -xvf LibreOffice_5.2.0_Linux_x86_deb.tar.gz

cd LibreOffice_5.2.0.4_Linux_x86_deb/DEBS/

sudo dpkg -i *.deb

64bit OS


wget http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/5.2.0/deb/x86_64/LibreOffice_5.2.0_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz

tar -xvf LibreOffice_5.2.0_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz

cd LibreOffice_5.2.0.4_Linux_x86-64_deb/DEBS/

sudo dpkg -i *.deb
